Joseph R. “Joe”Krasnansky, 82, of Pierceton, IN passed away at 9:20 a.m. on May 5, 2011 at The Oaks in Columbia City, IN. He was born on November 14, 1928 in Perth Amboy, NJ to Joseph A. & Agnes (Jankovitch) Krasnansky.
His family moved to Lake County, IN in 1931. He graduated from Froebel High School in Gary, IN and was a U.S. Veteran serving in WWII and during the Korean Conflict. He was married in August 1952 in Gary to Phyllis J. Achor who preceded him in 2005. He moved to the North Webster / Pierceton area in 1961 from Gary. He retired from Northern Indiana Public Service Co. (N.I.P.S.Co) after 40 years of services as a Journeyman Lineman. He was also a licensed pilot.
He was a member of the St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Pierceton, Veteran of Foreign Wars (V.F.W.) Post 2919 in South Whitley, Kosciusko County Voiture 833 of the 40 / 8,

He was survived by:
Daughter – Jeanne Krasnansky of Indiana
Son – James A. Krasnansky of Kentucky
3 Grandchildren & 4 Gt. Grandchildren
2 Sisters – Mary Purcell of Indiana & Dorothy Tartaro of Massachusetts.
He was preceded by his parents, wife, daughter – Jo Anne Krasnansky, & brother – John Krasnansky.
Graveside services will take place at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday June 4, 2011 at the Catholic Cemetery in Pierceton. Military rites will be performed by the American Legion Post 253 of North Webster.
Memorial bequest may be given to Donor’s choice. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
