Joseph V. “Joe” Richards, 70, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2017 at his residence. He was born on June 25, 1947 in Goshen, IN to Virgil Otis & Olivene May (Ott) Richards.
He graduated in 1966 from Syracuse High School and was a lifetime Syracuse area resident. H was married on June 28, 1980 to Deborah A. “Deb” Holmes at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse, IN who survives. He was formerly employed at Fairmont Homes in Nappanee, IN for 24 years and Royal Outdoor Products in Milford, IN for 8+ years.
He is survived by:
Wife – Deb Richards of Syracuse
Daughter – Taylor Richards of Syracuse
Son – Ben (Melissa) Richards of Haltom City, TX
2 Granddaughters – Katie McKinney and Halle Richards
2 Brothers – Larry Richards of Syracuse and Mark (Carol) Richards of Warsaw
Several Nieces & Nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother – Dennis Richards.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. No public services will be held. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St, Syracuse, IN 46567 is in charge of arrangements.
Memorial bequest may be given to the Riley Hospital for Children, 702 Barnhill Dr, Indianapolis, IN 46202. Memorial envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
