Joyce Bond, 86, of Syracuse, IN died at 3:00 a.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at her home. She was born on August 31, 1923 in Webster, Massachusetts to William & Barbara (Hoye) Gevry.
She attended public schools Massachusetts and was married to Wylie N. Bond who preceded her in 1979. She moved to North Webster in 1965 from Massachusetts. She formerly worked for Pasou Foods in Syracuse; 3 Flags Drive In in Syracuse; & Mike's Soda Shop in North Webster. She attended Syracuse Church of God and was a member of Eagles Lodge 3760, V.F.W. Post 1342, & Ladies Bowling League all in Syracuse.
She is survived by:
4 Daughters - Mrs. Michael (Joyce) Hardy of Sidney; Sharon Ringler of Syracuse; Mrs. Steven (LuAnn) Wiggs of Warsaw; & Mrs. Paul (Donna) Thornhill of Syracuse;
11 Grand, 23 Gt. Grand, & 2 Gt. Gt. Grandchildren;
1 Sister - Jane Leigh of North Webster ;
1 Brother - Harold Gevry of Webster, MA.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, daughter - Vera Jean Bond, son - Chester William Bond, granddaughter - Shelly Self, grandson - Christopher Ringler, Gt. Granddaughter - Shalynn Wiggs, 2 sisters - Gloria Robideux & Pauline Kiefer, 3 brothers - Kenneth, William, & Donald Gevry.
Visitation will be 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 19, 2010 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at the funeral home with Pastor Kent Butcher of the Vineyard Community Church officiating. Burial will be in North Webster Cemetery (Mock Addition).
