Joyce Moore (Cain)

Joyce Eloise (Cain)Moore, 83, went to be with her Lord and Saviour, Thursday, May 22, 2014 at 2:53 PM in Grace Village Healthcare, Winona Lake, Indiana.
Joyce was born July 19, 1930 in Fort Wayne, Indiana to Benjamin H. and Lona B. (Randall) Cain. She was a 1948 graduate of Oakwood High School in Dayton, Ohio. She went on to earn her BA Degree in English Lit from Taylor (College) University in 1953.
Joyce and Bruce R. Moore were joined in holy matrimony August 27, 1950 in Dayton, Ohio. They would spend their entire marriage serving God as He called them.
Joyce and Bruce were missionaries in south Texas from 1951 until they were accepted for missionary service in 1953 with Wycliffe Bible Translators. They left for Ecuador in 1956. Joyce taught phonics and literacy there for 38 years retiring in 1998. And for over 35 years Bruce and Joyce translated the New Testament of the Bible and an abridgment of the Old Testament into the language of the Tsachi people of western Ecuador. Although the Moore’s retired in 1998, she continued consultancy work with Wycliffe from their home in Dallas, Texas.
Survivors include 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Rebecca and German Rhon of Ecuador and Carol Shaw of Garland, Texas; 2 sons and daughters-in-law: Stephen and Princene Moore of Warsaw, Indiana and Rev. Paul and Karisse Moore of Silver City, New Mexico; 8 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; 6 step grandchildren; 3 step great grandchildren; and her brother Jarvis Cain of Salisbury, Maryland. She was preceded in death on June 1, 2013 by Bruce her husband of nearly 63 years and an infant brother: Randall David Cain (1927).
Family and friends will gather for a time of sharing in support of each other Friday, May 23, 2014 from 5-8 PM at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw. A service celebrating the life Joyce C. Moore will take place Saturday, May 24th beginning at 2:00 PM at The Country Church, 2951 E. 9B Road, Bourbon, Indiana. Pastor Ed Vasicek of Highland Park Church, Kokomo, Indiana where Joyce was a member will officiate.
Burial will take place in Ecuador at a later date.
