Joyce L. Peach, 81, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 7:20 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1, 2016 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. She was born on June 3, 1934 in Florence, AL to Charles A. & Lola Mae (Hubbard) Freshour.
She attended public schools in Savannah, TN, where she lived until she was 16 years old, and then her family moved to Marion, IN. She was a homemaker and formerly worked at RCA & Foster Forbes in Marion. After she was married she settled in Fairmount, IN until she moved to the North Webster / Warsaw area permanently in 1978 after coming to Barbee Lake since 1969. She also wintered in Clearwater, FL for many years. She was married in 1951 to William Clem and they divorced. In 1959 she was married to Charles C. Peach who preceded her on April 15, 2003.
She was a member of the American Legion Post 253 Auxiliary in North Webster and Elks Lodge in Largo, FL. Past president and member of the American Legion Post 313 Auxiliary in Fairmount, past member of the Lakeland Kiwanis Club in North Webster, and past member of the Red Hat Ladies Club in Syracuse.
She is survived by:
2 Sons – Hon. Judge Thomas L. (Carla) Clem of Pendleton, IN & Charles S. (Doris) Peach of Nappanee, IN
2 Sisters – Laura Mae Tinkel of Marion, IN & Identical Twin – Lois Gulley of Warsaw
6 Grandchildren – Christina (Wes) Gerber of Yorktown, IN , Nathan (Holly) Clem of Bolivar, MO, Debbie (Scott) Sweany of Salem, IN, Tami (Kevin) Brechner of Fishers, IN, Julie (Dan) Wuthrich of New Paris, and Mitchel (Jaime) Hollar of Milford, IN
15 Gt. Grandchildren & dozens of nieces & nephews and their children
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 3 sisters - Lizzie Evelyn Jones, Lorraine Freshour, and Lavern Taylor, 6 Brothers – Lincoln Freshour, Lee Freshour, Lester Freshour, Leonard Freshour, Lindzy J. “L.J.” Freshour and Lonnie Freshour.
Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 7, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 8, 2016 in the funeral home with Dr. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
