Joyce Mae Matson

Joyce Mae Matson, 73, of North Webster, IN passed away at 6:12 a.m. on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on May 9, 1947 in Somerset, KY to Chester & Alice (Hall) Redford.

She graduated from East Chicago Roosevelt High School in East Chicago, IN and was married on January 3, 1986 in Warsaw, IN to Robert A. Matson who survives. She moved to the North Webster area in 1985, was a homemaker, and formerly worked at Crystal Flash Convenience Store in North Webster & Kimball Glass in Warsaw.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster.

She is survived by:

Son Todd (JoyAnn) Dawes of Griffith, IN

Step Daughter – Lisa (John) Stevens of Derby, VT

Step Son – Jeffrey Matson of Valparaiso, IN

6 Grandchildren – Annaliese Dawes, Mason Dawes, Isabella Dawes, Emma Stevens, Sara Stevens, & Layne Matson

2 Sisters – Brenda Diehl of ONalaska, WI & Diana Belko of Hebron, IN

Brother – Edward (Kathy) Redford of Crown Point, IN

2 Sisters in law – Rosemarie Dollinar of Michigan, City, IN & Mary Ann (Ronald) Haskins of North Webster

Brother in law – Frank (Linda) Matson of Hammond, IN

Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 21, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home with Fr. Larry Biller of the All Saints Episcopal Church in Syracuse officiating. Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN.
