Juanita Frederich (Wolf)

December 5, 1916 — January 21, 2018

Juanita Hope (Wolf) Frederich passed away peacefully in her Atwood home in the early morning hours of January 21, 2018, after a long and well-lived life.
Juanita was born on December 5, 1916, one mile north of Atwood, to Merl Johnson and Elizabeth Lorena (née Egolf) Wolf. She was a 1934 graduate of Atwood High School and met her future husband, John Frederich, when they both worked at Creighton Brothers, where she kept the books. The two were married November 13, 1940 and established their home in Atwood. She never lived, nor had any desire to live, anywhere else; she was a proud Atwood resident.
Although her home church went through several mergers, she was a steadfast and lifelong member of the church which would become Atwood Otterbein United Methodist Church. She was active in their Sunday School, the women’s organization, the annual bazaar, and served in various board positions. She was also a member of the Atwood Home Study Club, and the Lady Lions of Atwood. The Warsaw Salvation Army Auxiliary benefited from her passion for their mission. Juanita believed in giving to others of her time, talent, and treasure.
Juanita is survived by children: Sue Errington of Muncie, Mavis (Joe) Barnett of Elwood, and Tom (Ann) Frederich of DeMotte; grandchildren: Sara Errington (Mark Trodden) of Syracuse, NY, Sheri Beth (Andy) Schafer of Grand Rapids, MI, Ryan (Karen) Dusek of Cyrus, TX, Amy (Jason) Oversmith of Raleigh, NC, Ginny Hodgkins of Lexington, KY, Anna (Julie Hughes) Barnett of Indianapolis, David (Anna) Styers-Barnett of Greenwood, Michael Frederich of Charlotte, NC, Jonathon Frederich of Carey, NC, and Mary Kathryn (Josh) Zak of Danville, VA; great-grandchildren: Isabel, Rachel, and Grant Dusek, Gillian and Norah Styers-Barnett, Kennedy and Clara Hodgkins, Addie and Tyler Oversmith, and Vivian Schaffer; her sister, Anna Mary Wolf Harlan of Cincinnati, OH, and sister-in-law, Joyce (née Miller) Wolf of Atwood.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 70 years, John; her son, David Frederich; daughter-in-law, Charlene Frederich; son-in-law, Paul Errington and brother, Jim Wolf.
A funeral which celebrates Juanita’s life will be held on Saturday, January 27th at 11 a.m.in the Atwood Otterbein United Methodist Church, 306 East Main Street, Atwood. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. on Friday, January 26th at Creighton’s Crazy Egg Cafe, 4217 West Old Road 30, Warsaw, and again for one hour prior to the funeral service. Pastor Jim Lawson will officiate with burial afterward in Stony Point Cemetery.
