Judith L. "Judy" O'Brien, 71, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 9:11 a.m. on Friday, March 18, 2016 at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on May 27, 1944 in Chicago, IL to Louis & Erma (Kollaritsch) Miklos.

She graduated in 1962 from Merrillville High School and was married on May 26, 1962 in Merrillville, IN to Dennis O. O’Brien who preceded her in 1992 after 30 years. She was a stay at home mother and homemaker when her children were home. She later was the co-owner / operator along with her companion, Michael Pavlick, at the Buckhorn Bar & Grill in Windfall, IN. She moved to the Warsaw (Barbee Lake) area 13 years ago from Windfall, IN and formerly lived in Dunkirk, IN.

She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post # 223 in Syracuse, former member of the American Legion Auxiliary in North Webster & Elks Lodge in Portland, IN, and formerly attended the United Methodist Church in Redkey, IN.

She is survived by:

Daughter – Shari (Jeff) Dalton of Hastings, MI

2 Sons – Jerry O’Brien of Ashely, IN & Kerry O’Brien of Indianapolis

Companion – Michael Pavlick of Warsaw

3 Step Daughters – Michelle (David) Sites of Marion, Denise Pavlick of Glen Rose, TX, and Mary Beth (Richard) Simpson of Glen Rose, TX

8 Grand, 4 Step Grand, and 7 Step Gt. Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents and husband.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday in the funeral home with Pastor Rick Cockman of the Corporate Chaplains of America officiating.

Preferred memorial may be given to the Judith O’Brien Funeral Fund, c/o Owen Family Funeral Home, P.O. Box 72, North Webster, IN 46555. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
