Judy Pennington

July 30, 1952 — April 13, 2025

Warsaw

Judy Pennington, 72, of Warsaw, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior on April 13, 2025. Judy lived life with a vibrant, joyful spirit that touched everyone around her.

Born on July 30, 1952, in Warsaw, Indiana, she was the daughter of Chris and Virginia Allen. On June 2, 1969, she married the love of her life, Charles Pennington, in West Virginia — a union that would become the heart of a beautiful, growing family.

Judy’s personality was full of life — spunky, fun-loving, and deeply rooted in her faith. She was a founding member of God’s Highway to Heaven Church, where she remained actively involved throughout her life. Her love for ministry shined brightest in her decades of service as director of the church’s food pantry, where she helped provide food and clothing to countless families in need. Gospel music and church gatherings brought her joy, and she could often be found singing old hymns with a full heart.

She delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, often taking them on adventures to church events, county fairs, demolition derbies, and their favorite — Chuck E. Cheese. Judy also enjoyed quiet moments at home, watching soap operas and Lifetime movies with her husband by her side.

Family was everything to Judy. She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles Pennington, and their five children: Christy Woodcock of Warsaw; JR (Deb) Pennington of Warsaw; Tim (Jennifer) Pennington of Tennessee; Jake Pennington of Florida; and Johnny Pennington of Texas. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Breanna (Branson) Pant, Lori Kay Pennington, Azalea Hodgson, Josh (Morgan) Woodcock, Addison Pennington, Presley Pennington, and Jonathan Pennington — and was blessed with eight great-grandchildren. She also cherished two special children, Johnny and Jennifer Slone, whom she lovingly considered her own.

Judy is reunited in heaven with her precious grandchildren, Zachary Woodcock and Kyelee Pennington; her parents, Chris and Virginia; and her brothers, Henry Allen, Chris Allen, and Bucky Slone.

Judy Pennington will be remembered for her unwavering faith, deep love for her family, and lifelong commitment to serving others. Her legacy lives on in the lives she touched and the memories she leaves behind — a true testament to a life well-lived.
