Karen E. Ringler

Karen E. Ringler, 69, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:05 a.m. on Friday, August 3, 2018 at her home. She was born on January 26, 1949 in Goshen, IN to Howard E. & Priscilla E. (LeCount) Juday.

She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident and graduated in 1967 from Syracuse High School. She graduated in 1971 from Indiana State University in Terre Haute with a Bachelor’s Degree and then received her Master’s Degree from Indiana State University. She was married on August 8, 1970 in Syracuse, IN to Garry L. Ringler who survives. She retired from the Wanee Community Schools as a speech pathologist after 32 years and worked part time for the Wawasee Community School Corporation in Syracuse.

She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse.

She is survived by:

Husband – Garry Ringler of Syracuse

Daughter – Elizabeth (Mark Porter) Ringler of Syracuse

2 Sons – Matthew (Diane) Ringler & Benjamin (Kelli) Ringler both of Syracuse

6 Grandchildren

Mother & Step Father – Priscilla & Charles Garner of Syracuse

Sister – Marta (Dr. Bernard) Emkes of Zionsville

3 Step Brothers – Bud (Suzie) Garner of Plainfield, John (Gail) Garner of Greencastle, and Jim (Lorri) Garner of Syracuse

She was preceded in death by her father.

Visitation will be from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, August 6, 2018 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 in the funeral home with Pastor Dana Neer officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
