Katherine E. Longenecker

Katherine E. Longenecker, 96, of Bristol, IN passed away at 5:55 a.m. on Sunday, February 4, 2018 at Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on November 28, 1921 in Cromwell, IN to Eldon & Rosa K. (Knepper) Stoner.

She graduated in 1941 from Cromwell High School and on September 29, 1945 in Wakarusa, IN she married Walter Calvin Longenecker who preceded her in 2001. She was formerly employed at Mid America Electronics in Middlebury for 11 years & Patchwork Quilt Country Inn in Middlebury for 11 years. She moved to Syracuse in 2010 from the Middlebury area where she had lived since 1963 and then to Bristol in 2017.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Bristol.

She is survived by:

Son – Terry Longenecker of Milford

Daughter – Sherry Detwiler of Goshen

4 Grand & 5 Gt. Grandchildren

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son – Billie Longenecker, sister – Karyll Hull, 4 brothers – Kenneth, Kermit, Kletus, & Kelvin Stoner, and Fiance’ – Arthur Kolberg.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 9, 2018 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in the funeral home with Pastor Gary Lewis of Bristol United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Indian Village Cemetery.
