Kathleen D. Riplinger, 89, of Leesburg, died 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, April 20, 2008 in her residence. She was born on September 25, 1918 in Gifford, Idaho to John W. & Lilly Mae (Wilcox) Hobson.
She graduated in 1936 from Gifford High School in Gifford, Idaho. She attended Lewiston Normal College in Lewiston, ID. On September 22, 1942 she married John G. (Jack) Riplinger who preceded her in death in July 1953.
She was a homemaker, former co-owner/operator of Riplinger Funeral Home in Spokane, WA & former custodian/librarian for North Idaho College, Coeur d'Alene, ID. She moved to Goshen/North Webster/Leesburg area 20 years ago from Idaho. She was a member of the North Webster Church of God where she was active in the small groups' ministry.
She is survived by:
1 Daughter - Mrs. Terry (Jill) Best of Leesburg
1 Son - Robert Allen (wife, Marleen) Riplinger of Ammon, ID
5 Grandchildren & 9 Great Grandchildren
She was preceded by Parents, Husband, 1 Son - William Riplinger, 7 Sisters - Winifred Ulencot, Mary Wineman, Grace Hobson, Fern King, Ione Frank, Lois Martindale, Ruby Hobson, 4 Brothers - Robert, Buford, Richmond & Edmond Hobson.
Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 26, 2008 at the Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN with Bob Curry officiating. Visitation is 1 hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date in the St. Thomas Cemetery in Coeur d'Alene, ID.
