Kathleen "Kate" Mock
September 29, 1926 — May 5, 2014
She was a lifetime Syracuse area resident, graduated in 1945 from Syracuse High School and received her Associates Degree from the International Business College in Fort Wayne. She was married September 9, 1945 in Milford, IN to Ryland R. Mock who preceded her on September 17, 1986. She retired in 2007 from Key Bank (formerly State Bank of Syracuse, Ameritrust Bank, and Society Bank) after 40+ years of service.
She was a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren. Former member of Red Hat Society in Syracuse, Hex Rural Extension Homemakers Club in Syracuse, and Hi Neighbor Club.
She is survived by:
Son – Phillip “Phil” (Annette) Mock of Syracuse
Daughter - LuAnn (Henry Skinner) Mock of Empire, CO
3 Grandchildren – Jon (Sarah) Mock, Justin (Jaimie) Mock, & Shane (Jessica) Newman
8 Gt. Grandchildren – Ruby, Taylor, Ava, and Addison Mock; Cody, Jacob and Graiden; and Gabriel Newman
2 Sister-in-laws – Cora Belle Grubb of Elkhart & Mary Mock of Syracuse
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son – Daniel “Diz” Mock, 2 grandsons – Zachery Mock & Seth Newman, brother – Edwin Grubb, sister – Mary Alice Tusing.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. on Thursday, May 8, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, May 9, 2014 in the North Webster Church of the Brethren, 7281 E 600N, North Webster, IN with Pastor Robert Wyman of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery.
