Klara E. Hill

Klara E. Hill, 97, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 9:58 a.m. on February 19, 2019 at Kosciusko Community Hospital in Warsaw, IN. She was born on April 28, 1921 in Big Lake, MN to John & Maude Mabel (Mummert) Muntinga.

She graduated from Jefferson Township High School in Middlebury, IN and Goshen College in Goshen, IN.  She was married on September 8, 1945 to John L. Hill who preceded her in death on September 15, 2015. She taught high school business courses for 35 + years at Jefferson Township High School, Carmel High School, and Northridge High School. She lived in Carmel, IN, Marietta, GA, North Webster, IN, and Nappanee, IN before moving to Miller’s Merry Manor in Syracuse in September of 2017.

She was a member of North Webster Church of the Brethren.

She is survived by:

2 Nieces – Sharon (David) Rensberger of Decatur, GA and Shirlee Fajardo of Greenville, SC

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and sister – Pauline Bottomley.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd 15, Warsaw, IN. Memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Church of the Brethren, 7281 E. 600N, North Webster, IN with Pastor Bob Wyman officiating.  Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St, Syracuse, IN, is in charge of arrangements.
