Latanna Thompson, 62, passed away Friday, August 4, 2017 at 9:05 p.m. in Parkview Regional Medical Center, Ft. Wayne, Indiana. She was born in Logan, West Virginia on December 19, 1954 to Greenway and Rebecca (Fletcher) Starr.
She and Jerald Thompson were joined in marriage May 12, 1978 in Columbus, Ohio. They would share 25 years together until his passing on July 31, 2003.
Latanna spent most of her lifetime in Warsaw before moving to Huntington, five years ago. She was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening and going to yard sales.
Latanna is survived by two sons: Dustin A. (companion, Ashley Hake) Thompson of Huntington, and Mark (companion, Patty Boyd) Starr of Kendallville; daughter: April Lloyd of Warsaw; four grandchildren: Marilyn, Abigail, Joey, and Raylie; three brothers: Paul Starr and John Starr, both of Warsaw, and Richard Estep of Columbus, Ohio; and sister: LouElla (Bill) Stewart of Trenton, Michigan.
In addition to her husband, Jerald, Latanna was preceded in death by her brother, Doug Starr.
Family and friends will gather at Titus Funeral Home, Warsaw, for a time of sharing on Wednesday, August 9th from 10:00 a.m. to 12 Noon. A celebration of Latanna’s life will follow beginning at Noon in the funeral home. Reverend David Hummel will officiate. Burial will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
