Lawrence W. McAfoose Sr.

March 22, 1940 — October 4, 2024

Silver Lake

Lawrence W. McAfoose Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, departed this life peacefully at his home in Silver Lake on Friday, October 4, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on March 22, 1940 in Bradys Bend, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Clarence and Bessie McAfoose (Snyder). Lawrence lived a life rooted in faith, family, and laughter.

On February 17, 1962, in Adrian, Pennsylvania, Lawrence was united in marriage to his true love, Zelda Audine Hunsberger. His heart was filled with love for the Lord, and he cherished moments spent with those close to him. He and Audine were longtime members of Pathway Church in Warsaw.

Lawrence dedicated his professional life to being a forklift driver until his well-deserved retirement in 2006. His strong work ethic was always matched by his remarkable spirit. He loved to share moments of laughter and joy, continuously bringing happiness to those fortunate enough to know him.

After retirement, Lawrence loved spending time outdoors, especially when it came to being in his yard. He received many compliments from neighbors and friends about his yard and he was truly proud of it. He also found great pleasure in woodworking. He crafted beautiful pieces that are now treasured keepsakes.

He is survived by his loving wife, Audine, who was his partner in life and love. Together they raised a beautiful family that continues to grow. Lawrence leaves behind daughters Robin (Tim) Sweeny and Brenda (Richard) Railsback; sons Clarence (Heidi) McAfoose II and Lawrence (Tina) McAfoose Jr.; as well as seven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren all of whom forward his legacy.

Lawrence also leaves behind his siblings: sisters May Leiter, Caroline Hooks, and Fay Nehr; and brothers Russell (Beverly) McAfoose and Mervin (Beth) McAfoose, along with many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with the care of Lawrence.
