Lawrence Mock, age 93, of Syracuse, passed away at Goshen Hospital on July 16, 2024. He was born to Roy and Cecilia Mock on June 12, 1931. He graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1949 and soon after married his wife Betty Bowers on September 25, 1953.
After high school he served in the United States Navy and was honorably discharged in 1953. He went on to work as a Tool & Die Maker retiring from General Motors. Additionally, he was a proud member of the Legion Post 253 North Webster.
Larry lived a remarkable life filled with love for the lake having resided on Papakeechie Lake for several years. He and his wife Betty also spent many winters in Lakeland, Florida. Larry was a man of many talents and interests. Described a "Jack of trades. He found joy fishing and actively participated umpiring the little league baseball teams.
Larry is survived by his son David (Erin) Mock of Indianapolis, grandchildren Jeremy (Brooke) Mock, Christopher (Jenna) Mock, Joshua Mock, and Andrew (Johnna) Mock. Along with six great grandchildren. Also surviving is daughter in law Darcy (Dennis) Hively. He is preceded in death by his wife Betty Mock, son Dennis Mock and one brother Louis Mock.
Arrangements are entrusted to Titus Funeral Home & Cremation Services at 1001 South Huntington Street, Syracuse, Indiana. A Life Celebration visitation will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2024 from 10 am to Noon. At Noon the funeral service will begin. Burial will immediately follow to the Syracuse Cemetery with military honors performed by the American Legion Post 253 and the United States Navy.
