Laymon Chesney

Laymon F. Chesney, 72, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 10:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012 at his home. He was born on January 31, 1940 in Anderson, IN to Kenneth R. & Iona M. (Foreman) Chesney.

He graduated in 1957 from Summitville High School in Summitville, IN and was married in June 1957 to Connie Owens who preceded him in death in January 1997. He then married Renita L. (Price) Gordon on May 12, 1998 in North Webster and she survives. He moved to Warsaw / North Webster area 34 years ago from central Indiana and retired in 1994 from Central Trucking Co. in Kokomo, IN. He was formerly a realtor for Lucas Realty before retiring in 2002.

He was a member of the North Webster Church of the Brethren, Northern Indiana Bluegrass Association and formerly attended North Webster Church of God.

He is survived by:
Wife – Renita Chesney of Warsaw
Son – Scott (wife, Jan) Chesney of Indianapolis, IN
2 Step Sons – Mark (wife, Jessica) Gordon & Thomas (wife, Charity) Gordon both of Warsaw
8 Grandchildren
Mother – Iona Chesney of Warsaw
Sister – Karon Silvey of Nashville, TN

He was preceded by his father, son – Greg Chesney, & grandson – Bo Chesney.

Visitation will be 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at the North Webster Church of the Brethren with Pastor Bob Wyman of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
