L. Delores "Dee" Vanator

L. Delores “Dee” Vanator, 85, of North Webster, IN passed away at 4:44 p.m. on Friday, December 26, 2014 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana. She was born on May 3, 1929 in Detroit, MI to Walter & Bessie L. (Burgett) Dishman.

She moved to the North Webster area in 1946 from West Virginia & Kentucky and attended North Webster High School. On January 28, 1950 in Columbia City, IN she was married to Glen A. Vanator who preceded her in death on February 26, 1976. She was a homemaker, child care provider in her home from many years, and formerly was a cook at Camp Adventure & Epworth Forest Youth Camps.

She was a member of the North Webster Church of God, Backwater Friends Home Economics Club, American Legion Auxiliary Post 253 in North Webster, and former member of the Pythian Sisters Lodge in North Webster.

She is survived by:
2 Daughters – Janet K. Kiser of North Webster & Nancy L. Howell of North Webster
Son – Gary L. Vanator of North Webster
Son in Law – Dave Rogers of Leesburg
1 Grandson – Zachary Rogers
2 Step Grandsons & 7 Step Gt. Grand, & 1 Step Gt. Gt. Grandson

She was preceded in death by her parents – Walter Dishman & Bessie Dishman-Mock, husband, daughter – Denise Rogers, 2 sons in law – Thomas Howell & Terry Kiser, step grandson – Brad Kiser, 2 brothers – Richard & Robert Dishman.

Visitation will be from 2:00 – 4:00 & 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will be at  10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014 at the funeral home. Burial will follow in the North Webster Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to Arthritis Foundation, Indiana Chapter, 8660 Guion Rd., Indianapolis, IN 46268. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
