Liana Butcher, 58, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 11:28 p.m. on Monday, May 2, 2022 at her home. She was born on August 26, 1963 in San Antonio, TX to Merle & Sinnia (Batiz) Peterson.
She graduated in 1981 from Terry Parker High School in Jacksonville, FL and from Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN. She was married on May 17, 1986, in West Lafayette, IN to Kent W. Butcher who survives and moved to the Syracuse area in 2001 from Chicago, IL. She was an Elementary / Jr. High teacher and formerly taught in Chicago, West Lafayette, Milford, North Webster, and Syracuse schools.
She was a member of the Vineyard Community Church in Syracuse where she formerly served as Children’s Pastor.
She is survived by:
Husband – Kent Butcher of Syracuse
Son – Benjamin “Ben” Butcher of Syracuse
Mother – Sinnia (Richard) Radner of Edgewood, NM
Father - Merle (Pam) Peterson of Monticello, IN
Sister – Brenda (Brian) O’Leary of Greenfield, IN
Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 13, 2022 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2022 in the funeral home with Pastor Chris Kroger officiating. Burial will follow in the Mock Addition of the North Webster Cemetery.
