Lillian M. Arlic, 89, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 2:20 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 at her home. She was born on September 28, 1926 in Watertown, NY to Matthew & Florence Cassell.
She graduated from High School in New York and was married on July 26, 1958 in Watertown, NY to Hartmuth A. “Hodd” Arlic who survives. She was a homemaker & a bus driver at Kaleva Norman Dickson Schools for 23 years. She moved to Syracuse in October 2105 from Wellston, MI where she had lived for 55 years.
She was a member of the St. Bernard Catholic Church in Irons, MI where she served on the Alter Society and attended the St. Patrick Catholic Church in Ligonier, IN.
She is survived by:
Husband – Hodd Arlic of Syracuse
Son – Allen Frederick Stark of Bronson, MI
3 Step Daughters – Ame (Bernie) Hale of Burr Oak, MI, Andrea (David) Hile of Syracuse, & Angela (Wayne) Trusty of Syracuse
1 Grandson, 11 Step Grand, 19 Step Gt. Grand, & 1 Step Gt. Gt. Granddaughter
She was preceded in death by her parents, daughter in law – Sharon Stark, step grandson – Braden Hale, sister – Betty Otis and 2 brothers – Harold & John Cassell.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Friday, January 8, 2016 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, 300 Ravine Park Dr, Ligonier, IN. Funeral mass will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the church with Fr. Wilson Corzo of the church officiating. Burial will take place at the Wellston Cemetery in Wellston, MI at a later date. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorials may be given to I.U. Goshen Care at Home Hospice, P.O. Box 723, Goshen, IN 46527. Envelopes are available at the funeral home.
