Lily Mae Hurd, 82, passed away Monday, March 10, 2014 at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, Indiana.
She was born in Bonanza, Kentucky to Henry and Rushie (Robinson) Yates on January 11, 1932.
On October 6, 1947 she and Johnie Hurd were married in North Manchester, Indiana.
A member of the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses, she was a jogger for R.R. Donnelley for 10 years.
Survivors include son and daughter-in-law: Dannie and Amy Hurd, Warsaw; 2 daughters and a son-in-law: Regina and Don Ervin, Warsaw and Wanda Hurd, Rochester, Indiana; sister: Hazel McFarren of Angola, Indiana; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Johnie Hurd, August 7, 2008; brother: Homer Yates; 2 sisters: Hester Abbott and Ruby Yates.
The funeral service for Lily Mae Hurd will take place Sunday, March 16, 2014 at 4 PM in the Kingdom Hall of the Jehovah's Witnesses in Warsaw. Brother Mike Longenecker will officiate.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be given to a charity of choice or simple acts of kindness may be done for others in Lily's memory.
