Linda Rae Johnston, 65, passed away Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at 5:30 AM in her Claypool, Indiana home.
Linda was born on December 3, 1949 in Warsaw, Indiana to Donavon and Gertrude (Robinson) Johnston. She was a lifetime Claypool resident.
Linda was a proud member of the Cardinal Bell Ringers. The ringers performed in a variety of places but the highlight of her life was getting to perform with them in Washington DC. She loved animals of all kinds but especially loved her dogs Buddy and Sadie. She enjoyed going to the Elkhart County Fair to watch the harness races. Linda loved Elvis and enjoyed listening to country music.
She will be greatly missed by her family including her sister and brother-in-law: Judy and Don Prater with whom Linda lived and was cared for; half-sister: Beverly (and Robert) Chaney of Maryland: 2 nieces and nephews-in-law: Pam and Doug Crace, Warsaw and Tammy and Carl Kendrick, Claypool; a nephew and niece-in-law: Kelly and Jennifer Prater, Claypool; 11 great nieces and nephews; and 12 great, great nieces and nephews.
Linda was preceded in death by her father: Donavon Johnston (February 1, 1989) and her mother: Gertrude Johnston (January 6, 2000).
Family and friends will come together to share memories and words of comfort Friday, October 30th from 12 Noon – 1 PM at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. Following visitation and beginning at 1 PM a service will take place to celebrate Linda’s life. Rev. Dean Ealey of Early Apostolic Bible Training Center and Pastor Bob Brown of God’s Highway to Heaven will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Linda’s memory be made payable to Titus Funeral Home to help defray the cost of funeral expenses.
