Linda Smith

Linda Smith, lifelong resident of Fort Wayne, passed away quietly at Parkview Regional Medical Center in Fort Wayne on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at the age of 57. Born on May 15, 1966, she was the daughter of Lavern Bork and Anna Swann (Heinkel).

On December 12, 1987, in Fort Wayne, Linda married David Smith Sr. Together, they have shared over 35 years of wonderful memories. They met each other in high school and quickly became each other’s best friends. Every day their love for each other only grew more and they could do anything together. 

Those who survive with broken hearts include her husband, David, daughter, Heather (Smith) Lardino and her husband Joshua, and son, David Smith Jr. She is preceded in passing by her parents, adopted father, Arthur Swann, and brother, Alan Bork.

Linda had a wonderful life full of love. She loved sweets and throwing beautiful birthday parties. She was a perfect mother to two children and had endless love for animals. From a little girl she was always surrounded by pets that loved her unconditionally. She would always reminisce about her childhood poodle pebbles. Years later she would find and rescue her favorite poodle girl, Misty Lou. Linda was a loving pet mother to many pets. Her “heart”, Roxy Lou. Her “baby boy”, Caine Lou. Her “baby poodle”, Honney Lou. Her “little girl”, Piper Lou. Her “little piglet”, Bowser Lou. Her “handsome man”, Neko. His “twin”, Mozart. Her “lucky Lou”, Token. Her “Siamese blue-eyed boy”, Maxwell. Her “baby”, Berry. 

She will be laid to rest knowing that she was always loved and was never a burden. The people she has impacted will always remember what a caring, strong, and beautiful person she was. She will be forever missed as she joins her mother and Misty Lou in heaven.
