Lois A. Watkins

Lois Ann Watkins, 81, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 4:05 p.m. on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at Miller’s Merry Manor in Warsaw, IN. She was born on October 30, 1936 in Huntington, IN to Kermit L. & Olive M. (Smith) Funderburg.

She graduated in 1954 from Huntington High School and attended Lutheran School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, IN & Anderson College in Anderson, IN. On October 6, 1956 in North Webster, IN she married James L. “Jim” Watkins who preceded her on July 27, 2014. She retired in 1991 as a clerk at the United States Post Office in Leesburg after 19 years and was a former nurse’s aide at various area hospitals. She lived most of her life in Huntington, North Webster, Leesburg & Warsaw areas.

She was a member of the National Rural Letter Carrier Association Auxiliary, grew up in the Huntington & North Webster Church of God, and attended the United Methodist Church in Leesburg for many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 sisters – June Niemann & Mary Lou Bennett.

Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd 13 & CR 500N, North Webster, IN. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Mark Wagoner of the 1st Church of God in Neon, KY officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at Leesburg Cemetery.
