Loren Shaum

Loren E Shaum passed away at Parkview Noble Hospital on February 1, 2025. He was 83 years old.

Loren was born to Ernest & Agnes (Housour) Shaum on January 16, 1942 in Elkhart. He was a lifelong learner, having graduated Concord High School in 1960, from Purdue University in 1964 and from the University of Wisconsin where he earned a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.

A hard worker and a successful businessman who rarely knew a stranger, Loren worked in Robotics. He owned his own business manufacturing and distributing machines across the world. Even in retirement, he worked in consulting. 

Personally he enjoyed time spent on the water and traveling. He was a proud patriot and devoted husband to wife, Gayle (Overholser) Shaum with whom he shared 63 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Scott (wife, Beth) & Steve (wife, Nancy); four grandsons; three step-grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. 

He was preceded in passing by his parents, Ernest & Agnes Shaum and five siblings.

Titus Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Syracuse, is entrusted with care of Loren. Visitors may join the family for a Celebration of Life on Jun 14, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm at the family’s lake home.

No flowers, please. Donations may be directed to Tunnel to Towers or to Parkview Foundation - memo line Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the home.
