Lorraine M. Freeman

Lorraine Freeman, of Warsaw, passed away at Lutheran Hospital in Fort Wayne on Tuesday, February 7, 2023 at the age of 74.

Born on October 27, 1948, in Brooklyn, New York, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Annette (Schembri) Burke. She grew up in New York and attended secretarial school there. On July 23, 1974, Lorraine was united in marriage to George Freeman III in Spring Valley, New York. The two shared 46 years together before his passing in January of 2021.

Lorraine and George made their home in New Jersey for many years before moving to Warsaw in 2011. She was a very hardworking and independent woman. She devoted her life to raising her two children. She also volunteered at the hospital and was a member of a local sorority. In her spare time, she enjoyed baking.

Those who survive with her memories to cherish include her two children, Timothy and Kristina Freeman; brothers, Brian Burke, Gerard (Elyse) Burke, and Larry Burke; sister, Virginia Burke Simmonds; nieces and nephews, Hayley Burke, Ryan (Wendy) Orner, Cameron Burke Simmonds, Daniel (Adriana Santolla) Orner, Vinnie Orner, Kevin Burke, Briana Burke, Isabel Burke, Christian Burke, Robbie Burke, and Aubree Burke; sister-in-law, Nancy (Michael) Wettje; and brother in laws, Jimmy Freeman, David (Tracy) Freeman, Billy Freeman and Michael (JoAnn) Freeman. She is preceded in passing by her parents and husband, George.
