Biography
Louis Roznovsky, Jr., 95, passed away Thursday, October 30, 2014 at 1:00 PM in Mason’s Health Care & Rehabilitation, Warsaw, Indiana.
Louis was born April 30, 1919 in Gary, Indiana to Louis and Julia (Kaden) Roznovsky, Sr.
He was a lifetime resident of Gary, moving to the Warsaw area in 2005. Louis was 1937 graduate of Froebel High School in Gary. He served his county as a Sergeant in the United State Army during World War II and was honorably discharged in July 12, 1944. Louis worked as a clerk for the US Steel in the Rail Mill for 35 years, retiring in 1978.
Louis married Annabell Pado on June 1, 1946 in Gary.
In the 1950’s he was a basketball coach for a Catholic Youth organization in Gary. He enjoyed many years bowling on leagues and ballroom dancing – having received many trophies with Annabell dancing the waltz. In Warsaw he enjoyed hosting at the American Table and playing a traveling Santa. Louis watched football and baseball and knew all of the records, scores and averages. He loved spending time with his granddaughter and two great granddaughters and loved giving and receiving HUGS
Survivors include his daughter: Louise Rainwater, Warsaw; granddaughter and grandson-in-law: Emily and Erron Stavedahl, Claypool, Indiana; and 2 great-granddaughters: Brianna and Jewelia.
Preceding him in death was his wife: Annabell Roznovsky, (September 5, 2005) and 2 sisters: Celo Fenchak and Lillian Brazier.
Friends and family will gather for a Mass of Christian Burial Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at 10:30 AM at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Warsaw. Father Phil DeVolder of the church will officiate.
The family has asked that gifts in Louis’ memory be given to Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 125 N. Harrison Street, Warsaw, Indiana.
