Louise Maxine (Ayres) Plummer, 92, passed away Friday, June 24, 2016 at 12:15 p.m. in Miller's Merry Manor Assisted Living, Warsaw, Indiana.
Born May 24, 1924 in Sidney, Indiana, she was the daughter of Edward and Ruth (Metzger) Ayres. Louise was the valedictorian in the 1942 graduating class of Sidney High School. She also attended Fort Wayne Business College. Louise was a legal secretary for Brubaker, Rockhill & Lee, LLP, Warsaw.
On August 3, 1947 she and Robert Plummer were joined in marriage in Silver Lake, Indiana. They would share 61 years of life until his passing on January 29, 2009.
As a lifetime resident of Atwood, Indiana Louise was an active member of its Otterbein United Methodist Church where she was the church historian and a member of its UMW (United Methodist Women). She devoted all of her time to friends of the Atwood community and especially to her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Survivors include 3 children: daughter: Genyce DiRico of Winona Lake, Indiana; sons: Kevin A. Plummer and Randall L. (wife, Sandra) Plummer – all of Fort Wayne; 2 grandsons: Robert DiRico of Oak Park, Illinois and Adam Plummer, Fort Wayne; 4 great grandchildren: Alexandria DiRico, Andrea DiRico, Daneila DiRico and Lucas DiRico – all of Oak Park; step granddaughter: Laura Hinton, Fort Wayne; step great grandson: Porter Hinton, at home; sister: Isabelle Deafenbaugh of Bradenton, Florida; 2 brothers: Bill Ayres of Tipton, Indiana and Arden (wife, Mary Elizabeth) Ayres of North Manchester, Indiana.
In addition to her husband, Louise was preceded in passing by her son-in-law, Eraldo “Eddie” DiRico on July 6, 2015; 3 sisters: Ruby Montel, Mary Tridle and Edna Maloy; and a brother: Dick Sellers.
Friends may join the family for a time to share special memories Tuesday, June 28th from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. in TITUS FUNERAL HOME, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580 and for one hour prior to the service at the church.
A service celebrating the life of Louise Plummer will take place Wednesday, June 29th at 10:30 a.m. in Otterbein United Methodist Church, Atwood. Burial will take place in Pleasant View Cemetery, Warsaw, at a later date.
