Lowell R. “Bud” Strombeck, 81, of North Webster, IN passed away at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 12, 2013 in his residence. He was born on December 18, 1931 in Pierceton, IN to Wayne & Ethel (Shuder) Strombeck.
He graduated from Chadsey High School in Detroit, MI and served in the Marines during Korean War. On September 14, 1957 in Detroit, MI he married Lois Ann LaFrance who preceded him on November 13, 2008. He retired from Hartman Appliance in Detroit after 30+ years of service as a store manager. After retirement he worked for Tam-O-Shanter Country Club in West Bloomfield, MI for 11 years. He lived most of his life in Michigan before returning to North Webster 17 years ago.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 253 in North Webster and formerly attended the North Webster Church of God as a child.
He is survived by:
Daughter – Lynn (Gary) Dollian of Dearborn Heights, MI
Son – Michael (wife, Renee) Stan of Garden City, MI
4 Grand, 10 Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Norma Suhey of Allen Park, MI
He was preceded by his parents & wife.
Visitation will be from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. & 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Owen Family Funeral Home, St. Rd. & C.R. 500N, North Webster. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 15, 2013 in the funeral home with Chaplain Jim Teasdale officiating. Military graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 16, 2013 Mock Addition of the North Webster.
