Lucy B. Baney, lifelong resident of Warsaw, passed away peacefully at Mason Health Care and Rehab on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at the age of 96. She was born on June 1, 1926, the daughter of Leslie and Vera Lockridge.
As the family oriented person she was, she spent her life at home raising her four children. On December 17, 1945, she was united in marriage to E. Marion Baney. The two shared 45 years together before his passing in April of 1991.
Lucy was a woman that had a great sense of humor. She always loved to make her family laugh. Her family enjoyed her home cooked meals, especially when it came to her tenderloins. Her grandchildren would get excited when they knew they were going to enjoy Grandma Lucy’s cooking. She also loved to travel and be on the go. Lucy and her family experienced a recent trip to Nashville; she had a blast! In her spare time, she also enjoyed knitting. She will be deeply missed.
Those who survive with broken hearts include her daughter, Sandra (Donald) Johnson and Amy Sills; grandchildren, Kimberly Lockridge, Donald Lockridge Jr., Rachael (Raymond) Johnson Kelley, Deidra (Christopher) Johnson Toppings, Katelyn Sills, Joshua Sills, and Marissa Sills; 15 great grandchildren; and 5 great great grandchildren. She is further survived by many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends. She is preceded in passing by her parents; sons Charles Baney and Donald Lockridge Sr.; grandchildren, Kristie Lockridge, and Karissia Johnson; and siblings, Gene Lockridge, Robert Lockridge, Doris Banye, Mattie Lockridge, and Donnie Paul Lockridge.
