Lucy E. Rogers
, 94, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 1, 2011 at IU Goshen Hospital in Goshen, IN. She was born on July 24, 1916 in Syracuse to Eston B. & Ada (Hinderer) Clayton.
She was a lifetime Syracuse resident and graduated in 1935 from Syracuse High School. She was married on August 29, 1936 in Syracuse to William E. Rogers who preceded her in 2001. She was a homemaker and a former member of the Hex Rural Home Economics Club in Syracuse.
She is survived by:
2 Daughters – Mrs. Terry (Susie) McDonald of New Paris & Mrs. Fred (Darlene) Peck of Cromwell
4 Grand 12 Gt. Grandchildren & 1 Gt. Gt. Grandson
1 Sister – Mrs. Kenneth (Verla) Stump of Cobbot, AR
She was preceded by her parents, husband, & 2 brothers – Eldon & Fredrick Clayton.
Visitation will be from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2011 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel and Ken Stump officiating. Burial will follow in Syracuse Cemetery.
Memorial bequest may be given to the donor’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
