Lula Mae Johnston, 79, of Warsaw, IN passed away at 7:21 p.m. on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne, IN. She was born on July 13, 1939 in Peru, IN to Ellsworth & Mable Grace (Franks) Willis.
She attended Bunker Hill High School and was married to Edward Johnston who preceded her in 1988. She has lived in the Warsaw area for the past 20 years, wintered in Florida for many years, and retired in 2004 from J.C. Penney in Warsaw after 17 years as a sales clerk.
She attended the Manchester Church of the Brethren & Winona Church of the Brethren.
She is survived by:
2 Daughters – Teresa Clingaman of Warsaw & Victoria Nichols of Riverview, FL
2 Sons – Bruce (Monette) Clingaman of Greenwood, IN & Danny (Guillermina) Clingaman of Warsaw
10 Grand & 18 Gt. Grandchildren
Sister – Betty Willis of Peru
Brother – Cud (Shirley) Willis of Peru
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and 3 sisters – Fontilla Pittman, Maxine Worley, and Nancy Herdman.
No services are planned at this time. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorials may be given to the Riley Hospital for Children, 705 Riley Hospital Dr., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
