Luvica F. “Vicie” Moore, 73, of Ligonier, IN passed away at 12:05 p.m. on Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at her granddaughter’s home in Wawaka, IN. She was born on November 28, 1938 in Rock Fork, KY to Benjamin & Cora (Bolen) Combs.
She attended Garrett Public Schools in Garrett, KY and moved to the Ligonier area 40 years ago from Kentucky. She retired from Syndicate Store Fixtures in Middlebury, IN after 18 years and was a member of the New Freedom Baptist Church in LaGrange, IN.
She is survived by:
Daughter – Sharon Bennett of Goshen
2 Grandchildren – Mrs. Adam (Belinda) Storms of Wawaka & Jerry (wife, Dawn) Bennett of Topeka, IN
5 Gt. Grandchildren
3 Step Sons – Farris Ray Moore of Tampa, FL; Billy Joe Moore of Ligonier; & Chester (wife, Diane) Moore of Marion
Sister – Mrs. Forrest (Sarah) Moore of Ligonier
3 Sister-in-laws – Dorothy Combs & Grace Combs both of Rock Fork, KY & Peggy Combs of Baltimore, MD
Brother-in-law – Ancil Ramey of Rock Fork, KY
She was preceded by her parents, great grandson – Dominic Michael Bennett, 4 sisters – Nora Mae Ramey; Anna Faye Hoover; Nancy Combs; & Rose Anne Combs, & 7 brothers – Cleocus, Spencer, Guilford, Enoch, Jerry, Leo, & Maurice Combs
Visitation will be from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 19, 2012 and throughout the day on Friday, January 20, 2012 at the New Freedom Baptist Church, corner of Factory & Sycamore Streets, LaGrange, IN. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 21, 2012 at the church with Rev. Wade Sturdivant of the church officiating. Burial will follow in the Orange Township Cemetery at Rome City, IN.
