Margaret "Marge" Kistler

Margaret F. Kistler, of Leesburg, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 19, 2024, at Lutheran Kosciusko Hospital at the age of 84. Known to most as “Marge”, she was born on March 16, 1939, in Dearborn, Michigan, the daughter of Robert and Ruth Penwarden.

Marge served in the United States Airforce and then took on the role of a stay-at-home mother to her four daughters. She was also a doting grandmother who devoted much of her time to her grandchildren. Her kind and caring personality shone through as she showered them with love and affection.

Outside her role and mom and grandma, Marge had many hobbies that brought her joy. She loved fishing and enjoyed spending peaceful afternoons out on the lake on the boat. She also loved to plant flowers and collect teddy bears. Crafting was another skill that she excelled in; she loved making beautiful handmade items for herself and her grandchildren. Marge treasured time going to yard sales with family and loving on her dogs, Coco and Isis.

Left to cherish her memory is her partner, Jack Heeter; extended family, John and Linda Heeter, and her brother, Jack Penwarden. Marge leaves behind her daughters, Teri Smith, Lori Smith, Tami (Paul) Pavel, and Mary Hardy. Her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the pride and joy of her life. She is preceded in death by her parents and sister Ann “Penny” Badoor.
