Margarita (Garza) Ballin, age 69 and a longtime resident of Warsaw, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, January 25th at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home.
Born in Tuff, Texas on July 20, 1950, Margarita was the daughter of Felipe Garza and Maria (Medelez) Garza. She spent several years in Texas before moving to Warsaw. She worked for Maple Leaf Farms for some time and it was there where she met Clemente Ballin. The pair would be wed on August 8, 1970 – Clemente survives in Warsaw with their two children.
Margarita was a giving, caring person and a devoted mother and grandmother. She was often caring for and watching the grandchildren and great-grandchildren and enjoyed time with family. She especially enjoyed card games and could be very competitive. She also liked trying her luck at Casinos and was sure to keep up on her favorite Novellas.
Margarita is survived by her husband, Clemente Ballin of Warsaw; daughter, Juanita Silvestre (husband, Antonio) of Warsaw; son, Clemente “Rucko” Ballin of Warsaw; two grandchildren: Cynthia Martinez of Leesburg and Maria Velazquez of Claypool; six great-grandchildren; brother, Pedro Garza (wife, Martha) of Warsaw and sister, Maria Antonia Garza Hernandez (husband, Miguel) of Austin, TX. She was preceded in passing by three sisters: Maria Irma, Gumecinda and Viola and by her parents.
A Life Celebration® is planned with Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, Warsaw. Visitation will be held at Titus on Monday from 2 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, January 28th at Noon in Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 225 Gillam Drive, Warsaw. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery.
