Maria Alsisto Smith, passed away at home in Warsaw on Friday, March 8, 2024. She was 63 at the time of her passing.
She was born in Orion, Bataan, Philippines, on August 10, 1960 to Isidro and Maria (Trinidad) Alsisto. Maria attended school in the Phillpines and attended college there as well.
Professionally, Maria devoted over 28 years of her life to Dalton Foundry, with most of that time spent in the Core Room. Her work ethic and commitment were truly admirable - she was a dedicated, hard worker. She was also fiercely independent and strong-willed.
Maria was the pillar of strength for her family. She enjoyed watching karaoke performances and bowling with her husband when they were younger. Family time held a special place in her heart, especially during holidays where she would gather her loved ones around and shower them food until they were beyond full -cooking was undoubtely one way she showed her love.
Maria is preceded in passing by her loving husband, Douglas Smith, Sr. her parents and most of her siblings. Those who survive with memories to cherish are her children: Jonathan W. Smith, Dean Smith, and Douglas Smith Jr. (fiance, Katie Fuller); grandchildren: Adrian, Kyle, Maelynn, Liam Kinlee, and Layni. She is further survived by many extended family members and friends.
