Marilyn A. Taylor, 82, of Goshen, IN passed away at 11:25 a.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at Greencroft Healthcare in Goshen, IN. She was born on January 15, 1934 in Cleveland, OH to Fred W. & Dorothy (Brunslow) Windle.
She graduated in 1952 from Notre Dame Academy High School in Cleveland, OH and on June 4, 1955 in Cleveland, OH she married Charles F. “Charlie” Taylor who preceded her on April 26, 2014. She lived in the Cleveland area until 1968 when she moved to Syracuse and then to Goshen in 2005. She was a homemaker & formerly served 20 years as the Site Director for the Syracuse Nutrition Site.
She was a member of the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church in Syracuse, where she was the 1st president of the Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, and attended St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Goshen.
She is survived by:
Daughter – Nancy (Rodney) Bell of Syracuse
2 Sons – David C. Taylor of South Bend & Paul A. (Lisa Smith) Taylor of Davenport, FL
2 Grandchildren – Carrie (Luke) Partain & Kevin (Jennifer Hileman) Bell
Sister– Linda (Richard) Lamier of North Olmsted, OH
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and 2 sisters - Rosemary Windle & Patricia Windle.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. Visitation will be from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. A funeral mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 10, 2016 at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 6943 E. Waco Dr., Syracuse, IN with Father Richard Hire & Fr. Tony Steinacker officiating. Graveside services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Friday in the Syracuse Cemetery.
Preferred memorials may be given to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Envelopes are available at the funeral home and church.
