Marjorie Hanlon, 91, of Elkhart, Indiana, passed away peacefully on March 25, 2024 after a short illness. Born in Topeka, Kansas on Nov. 2, 1932, she was the only child of the late Lester and Elizabeth Blaylock.
Marjorie is survived by her 7 children: Tina, Donna, Maritta, Linda, Bill, Tim, and Merry; daughters-in-law Suzanne and Christy; and sons-in-law Elio, Jim, and Andy. She has 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and 5 step-grandchildren. She loved throwing big parties for her family to gather from across the country and celebrate her milestone birthdays over the past few decades.
During Marjorie’s later years in North Webster, Indiana, her family loved visiting the lake and riding on Lake Webster’s Dixie Boat. She spent the last six years at Hubbard Hill Senior Living facility in Elkhart, where she enjoyed the beautiful ponds and gardens. Always generous with her sewing and handicrafts, she kept busy crocheting mats for the homeless and enjoyed the company of the other residents and caring staff.
Marjorie was married to Donald Hanlon for 45 years, until his death in 1997. Before moving to Indiana, she spent her high school and adult years in Springfield, Centerville, and Van Wert, Ohio, as well as Paris, Ontario. She worked at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base before her children were born, later giving her time to several jobs in business and retail, as well as a variety of community-service and church-related projects.
Titus Funeral Home of North Webster is entrusted with care of Marjorie; the family will celebrate Marjorie’s life privately. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hubbard Hill Chapel fund, 28070 C.R. 24 West, Elkhart, IN 46517, or https://hubbardhill.org/giving/ In the giving center, select "other" and enter Chapel Fund.
