Mark R. Timpe

Mark R. Timpe, 65, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 12:18 p.m. on Monday, July 30, 2018 at his home. He was born on March 29, 1953 in Elkhart, IN to Kenneth & Donna June (Martin) Timpe.

He graduated in 1971 from Concord High School, 1975 from Ball State University in Muncie, and received his Master’s Degree from Ball State.  He grew up in Elkhart and moved to the Syracuse area the early 1980’s. He was formerly employed at Wawasee High School in Syracuse from 1985 – 1991 where he was taught building trades classes, Warsaw High School, and was a coach in Muncie. He was a coach for the girls’ softball & golf teams at Wawasee High School for several years and was also a licensed real estate agent.

He was a member of the Eagles Lodge FOE 3760 & American Legion Post 223 both in Syracuse, V.F.W. in Goshen, Ball State University Fraternity, and an avid golfer.

He is survived by:

Son – Eric Nord of Elkhart

Mother – Donna Timpe of Elkhart

Brother – Mike (Becky) Timpe of Vicksburg, MI

2 Nephews, 6 Gt. Nieces & Nephews, and 1 Gt. Gt. Niece

He was preceded in death by his father.

Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. Rd. 15, Warsaw, IN. A Celebration of Life Gathering will be from 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in the Eagles Lodge, 12889 N Kern Rd, Syracuse, IN. Private family burial will take place in the Prairie Street Cemetery in Elkhart, IN. Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of arrangements.
