Marlys Heath, age 82 of Warsaw, passed away on August 1, 2024, at Mason Health and Rehabilitation Center. She was born on October 14, 1941, in Brookings, South Dakota to Dale J. Heath and Kathleen E. (Ward) Heath. Marlys spent most of her lifetime in Kosciusko County She was a graduate of Warsaw High School and later from Beauty School.
Professionally, Marlys worked as a surgical nurse for many years. She was a "no-nonsense" type of person with a heart for serving others. She was a graduate of Warsaw High School and later pursued further education at Beauty School. Additionally, Marlys volunteered for two enlistments with the United States Army from which she was honorably discharged.
Outside of her professional life and military service, Marlys had various hobbies and interests. An avid reader with an interest for history and cats, she found joy in exploring books of diverse topics. Furthermore, her fascination with family genealogy, the Royal Family, and castles. She was a devoted Christian, finding solace and community at Pathway Church in Warsaw. She actively participated in the Christian Women of the Word Sunday School class where she not only grew spiritually but also helped guide others on their faith journey.
Marlys is survived by two sisters: Patricia "Patt" Hygema and Diane Raber - both of Warsaw; a daughter, Jane (William) Helbig of Warsaw; 3 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in passing by her parents, Dale and Kathleen Heath and two brothers-in-law, Ellis Hygema and Douglas Raber.
Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with care of Marlys and the family. Services to honor Marlys' life will be held at Pathway Church, 2402 W Old Rd 30, Warsaw, IN 46580 on August 14, 2024. A memorial visitation will take place beginning at 10am, followed by an 11 am memorial service. She will be laid to rest at Oakwood Cemetery.
