Marshall G. "Baldy" Boyer

Marshall G. “Baldy” Boyer Sr., 76, of Syracuse, IN passed away at 4:30 p.m. on Friday, April 11, 2014 at his home. He was born on February 15, 1938 in Warsaw, IN to Sanford G. & Margaret Mildred “Milly” (Benge) Boyer.

He graduated in 1955 from Macy High School, was a United States Navy Veteran and moved to Syracuse in 1962 from the Macy area. On August 11, 1962 he married Wilma Nicodemus who preceded him in 1998 and on December 15, 2001 he married Sandra K. “Sandy” (Hammer) Drew who survives. He was formerly employed at Starcraft in Topeka for 12 years, Commodore Homes in Syracuse, Regent Homes in Syracuse, Fairmont Homes in Nappanee, & Blue Finn Homes in Nappanee.

He was a member of the American Legion Post 223 in Syracuse.

He is survived by:
Wife – Sandy Boyer of Syracuse
2 Daughters – Teresa Boyer of Syracuse & Diane (Fred) Shambaugh of Akron
4 Sons – Marshall Boyer Jr. of Milford, Tony (Flora) Boyer of Warsaw, Jim (Deb) Glaze of Pierceton, & Mike Glaze of Decatur
19 Grand & Several Gt. Grandchildren

He was preceded by his parents, 1st wife & sister.

Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN. Funeral services will follow at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Cox of the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel officiating. Military rites will be performed by Syracuse American Legion following services at the funeral home. Private family burial will take place in the Akron Cemetery.

Memorial bequest may be given to Goshen Care at Home Hospice, P O Box 723, Goshen, IN 46526. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
