Martha M. Shepherd, 89, of Warsaw, Indiana passed away March 18, 2015 at 8:15 AM in Millers Merry Manor, Warsaw.
Martha, the daughter of Walter and Bertha B. (Pattie) Middletown and was born in Wabash, Indiana on November 20, 1925. She was a 1943 graduate of Wabash High School.
In Silver Lake, Indiana and on July 7, 1952 she became the bride of Claude Shepherd. She lived most of her life in Kosciusko County as a homemaker. Martha was a member of Silver Creek Church of God, Silver Lake. She enjoyed knitting and cross stitching. Martha loved to flower and vegetable gardening, gospel music and camping; but most of all she loved her husband, daughter and grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed.
Claude, her husband of 62 years, survives along with their daughter and son-in-law: Sandy and John Shepherd of Silver Lake; 3 grandchildren: Dan (and Lauren) Shepherd of Fort Wayne, Indiana; Sara Shepherd and Kattie Shepherd – both of Silver Lake; and a sister: Elizabeth Metler of Wabash.
In addition to her parents, those who have preceded her in death are 4 siblings: Terry Middleton, Walter Middleton, Jr., Kenneth Middleton and Betty Middleton.
Friends and family will gather for a time to share memories in support of one another Friday, March 20th from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in TITUS FUNERAL HOME, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A service celebrating the life of Martha M. Shepherd will take place Saturday morning at 10:30 in Silver Creek Church of God, 6504 W. 1300 S, Silver Lake, Indiana 46982. Pastor Tom Craig of the church will officiate. Burial will follow in Silver Creek Cemetery. The family has asked that gifts in Martha’s memory be given to Silver Creek Church of God at the address listed above.
