Martha Jane Burnett, 87, of Warsaw, IN passed away 9:27 a.m. on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at Warsaw Meadows Care Center. She was born on May 15, 1933 in Plymouth, IN to Robert J. & Minnie L. (Ranstead) Lewallen.
She graduated in 1951 from Tippecanoe High School in Bourbon, IN and was married on June 5, 1970 in Etna Green, IN to Rex D. Burnett who preceded her in November 1997. She retired from Kosciusko Community Hospital after 14 years as a nurse’s aide and formerly worked at Parkview Hospital in Fort Wayne, IN as a C.S. Tech. She was a lifetime Kosciusko / Marshall County area resident.
She attended the Family Worship Center in Warsaw, and was a member of the Winona Lake Senior Center & Salvation Army for many years. She enjoyed traveling and riding motorcycles.
She is survived by:
Daughter – Caroline S. (Randy) Miller of Union, MI
Son – Richard A. (Tami) Thompson of Warsaw
4 Grandchildren & 3 great-grandchildren
2 Stepdaughters – Toni Wheeler and Linda Berger
2 Stepsons – Rex A. Burnett and Michael Burnett
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and granddaughter – Jenna Lynn Harman
A graveside service will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at the Tippecanoe Cemetery in Tippecanoe, IN. Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. St. 15, Warsaw, IN 46582 is in charge of arrangements.
Preferred memorials may be given to the Salvation Army, 501 E. Arthur St., Warsaw, IN 46580
