Martha M. (Firestone) Yerger, 78, of Newville, PA (formerly of Syracuse, IN) passed away on Sunday, December 30, 2018 at her home. She was born on January 20, 1940 in Syracuse, IN to Louis E. & Pauline (Hibschman) Firestone.

She graduated from Syracuse High School, received her registered nurse diploma from Parkview Methodist School of Nursing in Fort Wayne, IN in 1961 and worked as an RN throughout her life. She was a member of Doubling Gap First Church of God and formerly attended the Syracuse Church of God.

She is survived by:

Husband George E. Yerger of Newville, PA

2 Sons - David B. (Ellen) Yerger of Indiana, PA & John M. (Theresa) Yerger of Brigantine Island, NJ

4 Grandchildren - Elainey, Elizabeth, Lorraine, and Julian Yerger

2 Sisters Mary Jo (Sam) Lundy of North Webster & Peg Halsey of Syracuse

4 Brothers Jerry (Barb) Firestone of Noblesville, IN, Thomas (Shirley) Firestone of Elkhart, Gary (Melinda) Firestone South Bend, and David Firestone of Mishawaka

Memorial services will take place at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, January 26, 2019 at the Syracuse Church of God, 104 E. Washington St., Syracuse, IN with Pastor Stan Owen officiating. Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery. Owen Family Funeral Home 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse, IN is in charge of local arrangements.

Preferred memorials may be given to the Syracuse Church of God for Global Missions, 104 E. Washington St, Syracuse, IN 46567.
