Obituary for
Marv Smith
Marvin J. Smith, age 65, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 13, 2018. A resident of Warsaw, Marv, as many knew him, was born in Midland, Michigan but had spent the last 30 years in Kosciusko County, IN. He was born on August 12, 1953 and was the son of Joseph R. and Thelma J. (Baker) Smith. Marv was one of ten children in the Smith family.
Marv held several local positions. Most notably, he had worked with Medcast, Country Door and Trim, and G & M Recycling. His position at G & M was fitting as he was a fan of the TV show American Pickers and enjoyed other similar programming on Discovery Channel. He also enjoyed Pepsi (the bigger the better) and appreciated Marlboro Red cigarettes. Although he was quiet and mostly kept to himself, Marvin was a giving, caring person who will be dearly missed.
A list of those who survive includes his daughter: Tandra Smith, Stillwater, OK; two brothers: John Smith, Midland, MI and Dick (wife, Sheila) Smith, Leesburg, IN; and two sisters: Lena Perry, Greenville, MI and Mary (husband, Ed) Kinney, Evart, MI. Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews, several of whom were like siblings. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Marvin’s family has chosen to celebrate his life privately. He will be buried with his parents in Warren Township Cemetery, Coleman, Michigan. Those wishing to express sympathy may send condolences via www.TitusFuneralHome.com
