Mary Haq, known for her caring nature and her love for children, passed away peacefully into the presence of the Lord at the age of 69 at Lutheran Hospital on July 3, 2023 in Fort Wayne. Born on August 15, 1953, in Catlett, VA, Mary dedicated her life to being a caregiver and was a professional nanny. She had an innate ability to connect with people and truly loved being around them and helping.
Mary rarely knew a stranger and brought warmth and joy to everyone she met. Her nurturing spirit shone through in all aspects of her life, especially when it came to her hobbies and interests. Mary found great joy in golf carting around the Town of Syracuse and visiting with many neighbors and friends, playing mini-golf, and participating in BINGO at the Community Center. She cherished her daily ritual of enjoying a cup of coffee at Casey's General Store or Starbucks, and chatting with employees and customers.
Above all else, Mary's greatest treasures were her family and her grandchildren. She loved showering them with love and affection. Her surviving family includes son, Farhan (Carrie) Haq of Granger; grandchildren, Harrison and Higgins Haq; siblings, Esther (Wilbur) Raber of Ligonier, Rosanna(Wayne) Beachy of Millersburg, Jimmy Miller of Virginia, Pauline Martin of Syracuse, Joe Miller of Virginia, Vernon Miller of Virginia, Alvin (Esther) Miller of Virginia, Eli (Linda) Miller of Ohio, Johnny (Amanda) Miller of Fort Wayne, Bill (Katie) Miller of Virginia and Barbara (David) Yoder of South Carolina. She was preceded in passing by her parents, William and Sylvia Miller and brother, Danny Miller. She is also survived by several dear nephew and nieces: Keith Raber, Sonya Ellis, Renee Baker and Jennifer Saggars and cared deeply about the Kropf family as her own.
A visitation will be held on July 10, 2023, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Titus Funeral Home of Syracuse, 1001 South Huntington Street. A Life Celebration service will take place the following day on July 11th at 11:00 AM in the funeral home. Burial will follow the service at Syracuse Cemetery.
