Mary Jo “Jodi” Hurley, of North Webster, passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, December 14, 2022, at the age of 79. Jodi was born in Osawatomie, Kansas, on November 6, 1943, the daughter of Ed and Bonnie (Busard) Kuder. She went on to marry Jack Hurley, and together, they raised their large blended family.
Professionally, Jodi worked as a hair stylist by trade before retiring to raise her family. She often spoke of the many good memories of her extended family including her Aunt Daphne, Uncle Bob, and cousins. She enjoyed having her children and grandchildren around and often cared for and cooked many meals for all her family and friends. One of her most loved recipes was her Parmesan chicken. She enjoyed crocheting, playing bingo, became a master at shooting pool, as well as she enjoyed listening to country music, and watching NASCAR. Jodi loved her family immensely and always spoke of the great memories she created throughout her life. A strong, independent woman, Jodi will be remembered as a loving sister, aunt, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.
Jodi will be missed by her sister, Judy (Charles) Bowen, brother, David (Patricia) Kuder, brother, Roy (Martha) Kuder, brother, Lyman (Libby) Busard, and sister, Cindy Busard, along with her beloved children; daughters, Michelle (Mike) Michaels, Sandy (Mark) Reihl, Jill DeRose, Jana Parnell, Tammy Haynes, and step-daughter, Joilynn (Mark) Walters; grandchildren, Daniel (Jennifer) Hurley, Robert (Samantha) Herrold Jr., Jacob (Jessica) Herrold, Raymond Herrold, Angel Herrold, Jordan (Zachary) Buzalski, Jasmine (Joseph) Ullrich, Cooper Reihl, Nicholas (Melissa) Colpitts Jr., Lacy (Robert) Colpitts, Justice (Hailey) Colpitts, Summer (Matthew) Blades, Brittany (Daniel) Blades, Samantha Herring, and George (Kelly) Herring. She is further survived by her adored great grandchildren: Alyssa, Daniel Jr., Adalynn, Sonny, Susie, Shelly, Chevy, Finnley, Fallyn, Eli, Amelia, Robert Jr., Ra’Kadin, Ra’Marion, Ra’Von, La’ Miyah, Braeden, Ellianna, Arianna, Alyssa, Brooklyn, Chas, Serenity, Chance, Journey, James, Lizzy, Christian, Harley, Mark Jr., Alissa, and Arianna. Jodi was preceded in death by her husband, Jack; son, Joe Douglas Lippert, Jr.; mother, Bonnie Busard; step-father, Charles Busard; father, Ed Kuder; and step-mother, Marge Kuder.
Titus Funeral Home is entrusted with Jodi’s care. A private graveside ceremony will be held for the immediate family members only with a celebration of life to be held in the spring for family and friends.
