Mary Ellen Stillson, 82, passed away Monday, May 9, 2016 at 5:53 a.m. in Miller's Merry Manor Rehab, Warsaw, Indiana.
Mary Ellen was born in Monroe Township, Indiana to Ralph Fisher and Helen Bernice (Norris) Boggs. She was a 1951 Sidney High School graduate.
On December 14, 1952 she and William “Bill” Stillson were joined in marriage in Packerton, Indiana. He survives. They would share 63 years together.
A Warsaw resident, she was a lifetime Kosciusko County resident and worked for Whitley Products in Pierceton, Indiana as an inspector.
Mary Ellen loved horses and was known for her sugar cream pie. Her grandchildren were her life and she enjoyed family get-togethers. She was a former member of Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, Bill, she is survived by 2 daughters: Susan (and Randy) Shepherd and Sandy Stillson – all of Warsaw; 2 grandchildren: Andy (and Stephanie) Shepherd and Jeff (and Jenny) Shepherd – all of Warsaw; and 5 great grandchildren: Sean, Shane, Abbi, Isabelle and Eli Shepherd – all at home. Also surviving are 2 brothers: Don (and Carolyn) Boggs of Larwill, Indiana and Kenneth (and Freda) Boggs of South Whitley, Indiana as well as her lifelong best friend: Elsie Faye Hoppus of Warsaw.
Those who preceded Mary Ellen in death were her parents: Ralph and Helen Boggs and a brother: John H. Boggs.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, May 11th from 4-7 PM at Titus Funeral Home, 2000 E. Sheridan Street, Warsaw, Indiana 46580. A celebration of Mary Ellen’s life will take place Thursday morning, May 12th beginning at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. Pastor Bob Jarboe, chaplain with Kosciusko Home Care and Hospice will officiate. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
The family has asked that gifts in Mary Ellen’s memory be directed to Kosciusko County 4-H Horse and Pony, 4914 S. 400E, Warsaw, Indiana 46580.
