Mary Thompson

Mary E. Thompson, a beloved wife, mom and grandmother, passed away peacefully on Friday, August 19, 2022, at home surrounded by family.  She was born February 8, 1934 (88 years old) and was married to her husband William (Bill) Thompson for 67 ½ years and together they had 3 children: Laura Thompson, Natalie Thompson Maenhout (husband Mike) and James (Jim) Thompson (wife Caryn).  Mary had 4 grandsons (Jacob, Collin, Alec and Ethan) that she loved fiercely, and showered them with her great cooking.

Mary loved to cook. She always kept her family and friends well fed and shared her talent with her church cooking/baking for all the activities. She loved to travel which included the epic family trip to Yellowstone.  Mary was involved with a wonderful dulcimer music group at church where she would often entertain them with her sense of humor.  Mary loved to play games and cards (especially bridge with her best friend), quilting, crafting, and sewing. Mary was an avid reader, loved English comedy, and a good Hallmark movie. 

Mary will be cremated and laid to rest at Southlawn Cemetery in South Bend, IN alongside her parents (Francis and Milo Thompson). Memorial services are pending. The family is asking in lieu of flowers for memorial tributes to North Webster United Methodist Church (North Webster, IN), Kosciusko Home Care & Hospice (Warsaw, IN), or American Cancer Society.
